DEPAKOTE® 250 mg, gastro-resistant tablet and DEPAMIDE® intended for bipolar disorder. Henceforth contraindicated to childbearing


Authorities of health care agency had signaled the use of DEPAMIDE® and DEPAKOTE® 250 mg, gastro-resistant tablet assessed different exposition to offspring. Therefore is now on contraindication to woman childbearing. Also it is noted to bear child women who don't take contraceptive pills when remarked a pregnancy phase it is indicated to discontinue  the use of those medicines.


Note that valproate-based drugs are not used in bipolar disorder (manic) including depakine, depakine chrono, micropakine and generic specialties that carries the active ingredient of sodium valproate are prescribed in the case of epilepsy.
