Antibiotics and meningitis antibiotics

Antibiotics: The most safe and effective drugs are antibiotics. Despite of the antibiotic
resistance, combination enhanced the promising functional of antibiotics.

 a. Penicillins: amoxillin, ampicillin, benzylpenicillin, co-amoxiclav, flucloxacillin, phenoxymethylpenicillin.

b. Cephalosporins: cefaclor, cefalexin, cefotaxime. c. Macrolides: Azithromycin, clarithromycin, erythromycin.

d. Tetracyclines: doxycycline, oxytetracycline, tetracycline.

 e. Aminoglycosides: amikacin, gentamicin, neomycin, streptomycin, tobramycin.

f. Sulphonamide: co-trimoxazole.

g. Other drugs: chloramphenicol, ciprofloxacin, clindamycin, colistin, dapsone, fusidic acid,

Levofloxacin, linezolid, metronidazole, nalidixic acid, nitrofurantoin, teicoplanin, Trimethoprim,
vancomycin.

Antibiotics for meningitis

a. Aminoglycosides: amikacin, gentamicin, neomycin, streptomycin, tobramycin.

b. Cephalosporins: cefaclor, cefadroxil, cefalexin, cefixime, cefpodoxime, ceftazidime

c. Macrolides: Azithromycin, clarithromycin, erythromycin.

 d. Penicillins: amoxillin, ampicillin, benzylpenicillin, co-amoxiclav, flucloxacillin,

phenoxymethylpenicillin, co-fluampicil, piperacilli, piperacillin/tazobactam.

e. Lincosamides: clindamycin.

f. Other drugs: aztreonam, chloramphenicol, ciprofloxacin, colistin, fusidic acid, imipenem,

 Levofloxacin, linezolid, metronidazole, rifampicin, teicoplanin, Trimethoprim, vancomycin.
