Antibiotics, alcohol consumption and diet when going once with food items /absorption effects

Alcohol consumption

- Advantage in chronic alcohol beverages to increase the rate of metabolism of drugs
(warfarin and phenytoin) but non-alcoholic abuse or acute with sedative or depressant
drug may enhance depression response. So averting the effect is the main important.

 Smoking

- Effect of some drugs is decreased due to the smoking to accelerate the
drug-metabolism especially diazepam, propoxyphene, theophylline, olanzapine.

Diet

- Administrating antibiotics 1h before or 2h after meals is goo for those drug
absorption. Food containing milk or calcium items interact with the absorption action
mainly tetracycline and decrease the dissolution. Fluoroquinolone may combine and
form chelation from gastrointestinal, so poorly absorption.

- Pressor action contains to certain beverage alcohol and cheese. Those items enhance
the pressor amine tyramine which is metabolized by MAO. Moreover tyramine
enzyme protects intestinal wall and liver against the pressor action of amine in food.
Accumulation of unmetabolized tyramine involves serious hypertensive reaction.

- Patients with warfarin treatment supported not to change vitamin food style while using vitamin K.
